Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Jamboree about?

The Jamboree extends the cycle jumble (a cyclist’s car boot sale) and auction with mobile bike mechanics, exhibitors and organisations all on site for the day.

There are expected to be organised rides to and from the event starting in Alton, Winchester and Petersfield.

How much does entry cost?

The cycle jumble will be £X for sellers and £Y for buyers.

The cycle auction will have fees for sellers and buyers. Viewing is free.

The rest of the Jamboree is free entry and it will be like any other Saturday at the Pots. Except there will be a lot of cyclists about, a variety of cycling related organisations and a cycle auction at 2pm in the barn.

How do I get there?

By bike is the obvious way for the Jamboree. National Cycle Route 23 is 3 miles away and the South Downs Way is 2 miles away.

The Flowerpots Inn is 1 mile north the A272 in the village of Cheriton, 3 miles south of New Alresford. It’s 8 miles from the M3/A34 Winnal Interchange (check out the roadworks before travelling) and 12 miles from the A3 at Petersfield.

Stagecoach 67 bus operates approximately every 3 hours from Winchester and Petersfield and stops in Cheriton. It has stops adjacent to both railway stations.

Stagecoach 64 bus operates every 30 minutes from Winchester – King Alfred Statue and Alton – Railway Station. It stops in New Alresford 3.5 miles away. The walk is on country lanes and footpaths.

What if I am not a cyclist?

You can visit the pub as you would normally do.

General car parking will be on the Recreation Ground opposite the pub as per the Beer Festival.

Disabled parking, drop off and collection will be in the lower car park.

The barn, upper car park, and grassed areas will be being used by the jamboree.

The outside seating area in the orchard will be shared by everyone.
